ELEGOO with Her — A Meaningful Journey Comes to a Close

We’re delighted to announce that our ELEGOO with Her project has officially come to a close. Over the past few months, this initiative brought together a passionate group of women, many of whom were exploring 3D printing for the first time, and they embraced the joy of creating with open minds and hands-on spirit.

Introduction

At Formnext 2024, ELEGOO officially launched the “ELEGOO With Her” program — its first initiative dedicated to encouraging more women to explore 3D printing. From product design and toy making to cosplay and microfluidics, the program invited creators of all backgrounds to share their visions and bring them to life with the help of ELEGOO printers and mentorship.

Where Her Journey Begins

As part of this initiative, ELEGOO provided each creator with a 3D printer, along with dedicated courses, hands-on guidance, and continuous community support. From mastering slicing and bed leveling to troubleshooting prints and refining their designs, the women in this program went through a full journey of learning-by-doing.

But more than just technical skills, this project was about building confidence, connection, and creative freedom. Through custom workshops and online meet-ups, every participant creator was encouraged to shape their own path and discover the joy that comes with bringing ideas to life.

When 3D Printing Meets Her World

🏠 What She Made in Home Decor

The creators reimagined the objects we live with, like Ekaterina’s time-traveling miniature lamps, each one capturing a different design era. Kim, meanwhile, created light sculptures inspired by radiolarians — microscopic sea creatures known for their intricate beauty. Their works fused elegance, nature, and function through light, form, and detail.

👗 What She Made in Fashion and Cultural Identity

Anita Isabelly created nail art inspired by her favorite game Disco Elysium. Maria Fernandez designed editorial nail accessories that symbolized “sweat and tears.” Emna Hussein presented a fashion collection that reimagined Tunisian garments and embroidery through 3D textures and modern silhouettes, using jasmine as a central motif.

Tannya Lokwani, inspired by the visual language of Zapotec textiles, explored 3D printing with textile principles to reshape structure and emotion, reflecting on what “home” means. Kinnera Putti drew inspiration from traditional Indian lehengas, blending heritage craftsmanship with 3D printing to create a fresh, personal reinterpretation. Meanwhile, Neyla Coronel Vega was inspired by her journey toward body acceptance, designing 3D-printed innerwear that fills a gap in the market.

Nika developed avant-garde fursuit footwear using multi-material 3D printing to solve comfort and authenticity challenges. Uliana created Halo Thorns, a glowing TPU choker exploring the interplay of light, form, and the body — transforming a digital idea into a physical object.

From an ecological standpoint, Holly Adams drew inspiration from reflections on ecological collapse to envision a futuristic backpack that supports life through interspecies collaboration, merging biotechnology and fashion.

Together, these creators explored how 3D printing can become a medium of cultural expression — where technology doesn’t erase identity, but empowers it.

🎓 What She Made in Education

Janet Zagah saw 3D printing as a powerful tool to bridge educational gaps and enhance learning experiences, and designed innovative STEM kits aimed at bringing practical renewable energy education to classrooms in Nigeria, addressing the lack of hands-on materials in rural communities. Rosa Devine developed a functional, interactive 3D model of the human larynx to aid vocal anatomy education, making complex concepts more accessible through tactile learning. Heather Blaikie focused on wearable prototypes designed to improve posture and reduce jaw tension for people working long hours at desks, transforming her personal challenges into practical, ergonomic solutions. Together, these projects highlight how 3D printing can empower education and well-being across diverse fields and communities.

🧸 What She Made in Toys

For others, 3D printing was a source of joy and play. Danielle Royer transformed her drawings into physical forms, experimenting with new materials to expand her artistic skills. Vaishnavi incorporated her favorite elements of clouds and sky into her toy designs, shaping her digital sculptures from simple forms into charming characters. Patricia Dooley, starting with no 3D experience, blended 3D printing with upcycled garments. Their projects highlight creativity, exploration, and the fun of making.

⚔️ What She Made in Cosplay

The creators transformed their fandom passions into impressive 3D-printed cosplay pieces. Laura Connolly drew inspiration from the Mandalorian’s Armorer, honing skills to create detailed armor and accessories. Laura LoPiccolo paid tribute to Halo: Reach by designing a customized Spartan suit blending 3D printing with electronics and painting. Leeanna Fisher brought her favorite World of Warcraft lore into the real world by printing iconic game items and Michelle Lawhorn recreated Charlie’s shield, trident, crown, and pet Keekee from Hazbin Hotel, bringing her favorite character to life.

All of these projects reflect creativity, community, and technical growth.

Thank You and Let’s Keep Building

We’d like to thank every creator who joined us on this journey — from those who took part in the initial application to those who brought their visions to life through 3D printing.

Although this project has officially concluded, we know this is only the beginning for many of these incredible creators. We're deeply proud to have played a part in their journey — and excited to see where they’ll go next.

If you're curious about the projects they built, feel free to DM us or reach out via our official channels. We’d love to share more.

Let’s keep creating, together. 💜
