Summer Necessities Creativity Challenge - ELEGOO X ALL3DP

Are you ready to make the summer unforgettable? Elegoo and AllЗDP are launching a summer 3D design competition that turns up the heat and brings your brightest ideas to life.

 

This contest is themed “Summer Necessities Creativity Challenge." lt invites all creatives, hobbyists, and 3D printing enthusiasts to showcase their skills and passion for 3D designing and 3D printing. The heart of this competition lies in capturing the essence of summer through 3D printing.

Participants are encouraged to submit their works (including designed file and printed model picture or video), ensuring a wide canvas for creativity. Whether it's a tool that enhances your summer experience, a decorative item that embodies the season's joy, or a practical gadget to beat the heat, your creation should resonate with the memories and moments that define a perfect summer.

Contest Timeline

How to Enter the Contest?

ELEGOO and ALL3DP published events on its official website's landing page and social media. Elegoo and All3DP provide a landing page for you to upload a link to your model (including designed file and printed model picture or video). In order to win the Special Prize, print out your model on an Elegoo machine, follow any of Elegoo’s social accounts, and tag your entry with #ELEGOO3DPSummer.

 
Participants are encouraged to submit a link to their work. Your model can reside on any 3D printing repository (Thingiverse, Cults, Printables, or others) or on a file-sharing platform (like Dropbox, Wetransfer, Google Drive etc). Then, enter the link to your design into the entry form on this dedicated Contest Page: https://bit.ly/ELEGOO3DPSummer

The contest is open from May 21st, 2024, to June 16th, 2024, at 11:59 pm CEST/5:59 pm EDT/4:59 pm CDT/2:59 pm PDT. ( More time zone converter tool )

The entry scope can be broad - you can design creative art pieces or useful everyday objects. The only requirement is that the design is yours and free of third-party rights. All submissions will undergo a check for originality and ownership.

 

Note:
1.The submitted work can be relatively simple and does not need to be too complex.
2.Contestants can use AI modeling websites. The following are recommended free tools including Meshy | 3D Al Generator；Alpha3D；Luma Al - Genie.

(AI generated model disclaimer: ① Due to potential ethical crises caused by AI-generated copyrights, we advise against uploading models in a paid download form to model websites. ② Given the numerous flaws in AI-generated models, we recommend not uploading unprocessed model files to other model sites, or clearly marking the incompleteness of the model files to prevent wasting others' time and resources. ③ Elegoo does not hold any copyrights to the models produced in this activity, and all copyright responsibilities are borne by the model generation platforms and individuals involved.)

Rich Contest Prizes

The prizes are very generous awaiting the winners. Elegoo will give lavish hardware and software packages to 32 lucky winners across various categories!

The special prize will be drawn by ELEGOO from those who participate in our social media activities with the hashtag #ELEGOO3DPSummer! The winner will be able to go to the FORMNEXT exhibition in Germany in November to meet ELEGOO offline, and get round-trip air tickets and hotels booked by ELEGOO.

Conditions of Participation

1. Link to your design: You enter the competition by pointing us to a link to your printed models and 3D design files. The design must be yours and be free of third-party / IP rights. The submission period ends on June 16th, 2024, at 11:59 CEST/5:59 pm EDT/4:59 pm CDT/2:59 pm PDT.

2. Privacy and consent: By entering, participants consent to use their email addresses for contest-related purposes, adhering to European GDPR guidelines. Post-competition, all information will be deleted.

3. Selection process: The winners will be chosen by an independent jury consisting of Elegoo and All3DP staff members and some 3D designers.

4. Eligibility: The contest is open to everyone except individuals under 18 years, employees of Elegoo or All3DP, and their immediate family members.

5. Legalities: Participation excludes legal recourse.

Evaluation Criteria 

1. Design Accuracy: A high-quality 3D design model should capture the essence of the intended object with precision and accuracy.

2. Creativity: A standout 3D design model should showcase imaginative thinking and demonstrate a fresh perspective.

3. Aesthetics: Consider the visual appeal and artistic qualities of the model.

Meet the Jury 

 

To make sure your design gets the love it deserves, the jury of the contest is broad.

Chris Hong is the founder and CEO of Elegoo, known for his deep expertise in product development and e-commerce.

Anatol Locker, a tech journalist with extensive experience in tech publications, is the co-founder and Chief Content Officer at All3DP.

Pablo Inventos is a prominent figure in 3D printing, with a YouTube channel boasting over 1.68 million subscribers.

Joel (Wildrosebuilds): The Calgary-based 3D printing expert specializes in CAD and FDM printing technique.

Everson a.k.a. Geek Detour is former web developer turned 3D printing enthusiast. He is based in Spain and running a popular YouTube channel.

Integza: A Portuguese YouTuber/Maker known for using 3D printing to create engines and rockets, with a significant following.

Design Contest Wraps Up with Amazing Entries

With its entries ranging from practical to picturesque, the Elegoo x All3DP design contest left us astounded by its creativity and innovation. Here are the winners.

FIRST PRIZE

 

llai Levavi and Justin Headley are the winners of the First Price, each consisting of an Elegoo Jupiter SE, the Mercury XS Bundle, an Air Purifier, 6 kg of Resin, and aChitu Box license.

They developed a 3D-printed hand surfboard and a Gearfinity Fan Module.
respectively.

SECOND PRIZE

 

Next are the winners of the Second Prize, consisting of Saturn 4 Ultra printers, theMercury XS Bundle, 1 kg of Resin, and a Chitu Box license.

AskNinjaTom designed a wind spinner for your garden, Javier Serra Alonso came up with a Zen Beach for you to rest and reflect, Gokul kb has a fan design that keeps your camera or other small tools cool, and Andrew Beerbohm developed a catapult mechanism for a can.

THIRD PRIZE

 

Here come the winners of the Third Prize. They will be sent a Neptune 4 Max 3D printer, 10 kg of PLA, and a Chitu Box license.

Lorenzo laccarini added a yummy-looking ice cream box to the competition, FranklinAdams came up with a summer-themed ice cream truck diorama, Zolt¡n Riskó sent us beach-themed miniatures, Stuart Attenborrow added a pool jet to an inflatable pool, Thomas Lété gave a 3D printed home to insects, and Benjamin Cann designed a tentacle-themed cup holder for the beach.
